With its history dating back to the 15th century, the noble family of Bisalpur is a cadet branch of the Princely State of Sirohi, tracing its roots to Rao Mahjal, the younger son of Maharao Shri Jagmal I (c. 1581-1583). With a lineage steeped in gallantry and consequent martyrdom, Rao Patta ji’s children were brought up by the Maharana of Mewar at the City Palace, Udaipur.

Rao Haridas ji (the son of Rao Patta ji) spent most of his youth in Udaipur and left an indelible mark on the city, and the kingdom. To this day a hill in Udaipur, Haridas Ji Ki Magri, is named after him.

Rao Haridas Ji would go on to fight for, and reclaim the ancient lands of Bisalpur, and ever since then, the palace of Bisalpur has been uninterruptedly inhabited by the progenies of Rao Haridas Ji.

Rawla Bisalpur today, stands tall and exudes grandeur and mystery that is peerless. The present palace juts out of a hill in the Aravalis’ and was restructured in the 17th Century, with further modernisation taking place in 1938. The palace is a classic example of Indo-European architecture. The acclaimed Marwari horse stables are just around the corner.

Bhanwar Sahebs' Veer Vinod Singh & Paramveer Singh Deora, the sons of Kunwar Saheb Raghuveer Singh Deora took it upon themselves to open a part of the palace to anyone with a hankering for escapade and wanderlust. With quintessential Rajput hospitality on hand, Rawla Bisalpur is sure to leave you enthralled.

"Oh! If only our walls could talk, they would have such tales to tell.
